Having worked with children for over 20 years, I assumed that I was already familiar with most developmental aspects of early childhood, so it was a great surprise when I found that there were a lot of ideas in the book Brain rules for Babies that I hadn’t heard before.
So many books on child development seem to rely heavily on the opinions of the writer, so it is also incredibly refreshing to read a book that is highly focused on the science of brain development and backs it up by referencing the studies, but that is also fun, light and easy to read.
John Medina’s website is full of funny videos to teach you the basic principles of the concepts in the book, such as the video below and is very rich in information.
